September/October
INTRO
I walked into this season expecting to disciple young men into masculine men of God. Through persistence, patience and the power of God, that expectation has been met. What I didn’t expect was how much transformation and growth our Father had planned for me in my life along the way. I wish I could take some credit for all the things written in this newsletter, but it is 100% Jesus. I am nothing without Him and I’ve found that the most effective thing I can do for ministry is surrender more of myself to Him.
SEPTEMBER
The first week of September was a transition from the Communications and Mobilization (Social Media) Team, to the Global Missions (School Staff) Team. The following weeks were filled with Staff Training that gave me all the practical skills and preparation I needed to staff the upcoming Discipleship Training School(DTS) The school started on the 22nd . The rest of the month was spent in an “INTRO Week” where the students met each other, learned about YWAM values, and joined a number of spiritual/theological discussions so we could all start on the same page as some of the students are relatively new believers.
OCTOBER
Trail-Blazers DTS 2024 has five staff including myself, and 10 students, five men and five women, from six different countries. The topics we have learned about thus far are: The Kingdom of God, God’s Father Heart, The Humanity of Jesus, The Holy Spirit, and Bible Overview. I have learned new things each week and my life has been changing, just as much as the students' lives have. The students are required to spend a minimum of 50 hours learning alongside the staff each week. I also have three of the men living with me, so the discipleship truly never stops. These young men have now become as close as brothers to me. It is the highest privilege that I get to be one of the men God used to transform these guys from four countries into absolute world changers. I believe they will play a key role in bringing in the harvest that has already begun. I have found it difficult to catch my breath between the waves of emotional and spiritual transformation we’re all experiencing. Despite all this, I have been at peace and fully thriving.
OUTREACH
Since the start of this school we have split into two outreach teams. Team Fire and Team Wind. Team Fire will go to the Middle East for their three month outreach phase and Team Wind will be going to Thailand. After weeks of prayer I decided to join Team Wind and co-lead the outreach to Thailand with my friend Becca. We are planning the logistics now and would appreciate as much prayer as you can offer. We leave in the first week of December and return in the first week of March. I have found that planning an outreach for 7 passionate young believers is way more fun than I expected. I can see how God is walking with us every step of the way and I expect to have the best time discovering every opportunity He has prepared for us.
OUTRO
Grazie Mille to everyone who read this far! It is the biggest honor to have you partnering with me in this challenging season. It brings me great joy to keep everyone updated with all that’s happening. However, newsletters are not my forte. I would love to connect via telephone! Please reach out for a call. I will gladly spend my evening talking with you guys. I’d love to know what’s going on in all your lives too so I can keep you in my prayers. May God bless you and keep you, and may the nearness of His Holy Spirit be with you always! Ciao!
